BASEMENT TAPES

The basement tapes are tapes that Eric and Dylan made while in Eric's basement, hence the name "basement tapes". The tapes were Eric and Dylan ranting about their lives, their hatred for Columbine, showing off their bombs and weapsons, and explaining "NBK".

Though, the tapes have not been released unlike their other videos Eric and Dylan did. In 2006, the courts allowed Jefferson County Sheriff Ted Mink (who took the job after John Stone) the choice to release the Basement Tapes to the public but he decided not to, on the basis that he feared that other troubled youths would see the tapes as a "call to arms" and a "how-to instruction video" to attack their own schools. However, there has been leaked audio of one of the tapes. There was leaked audio from Rachel Scott's dad who recorded a portion during the viewing of the tapes for the victims' families.

There is a transcript of the tapes, TRANSCRIPT
